Whitehead Memorial Museum
The museum was established in 1962 and remains the only full time, public museum in Val Verde County, Texas.
The mission of the Whitehead Memorial Museum is to preserve historical and tangible artifacts that reflect the early history, cultures, and economics of Del Rio and Val Verde County.
The museum also host annual events such as Cajun Fest, Octoberfest and Christmas at the Museum.

Downtown Del Rio

Lake Amistad NPS
For those who enjoy outdoor activities, Del Rio is essentially the backdoor to Big Bend country.
At the north end of the city along Hwy 90 is Lake Amistad, home to some of the best bass fishing in Texas. In the area you will also find plenty of activities that include hiking, camping, birding and kayaking.
